Y’all, it’s been a minute since I’ve made a blog post. I know. I’ve been making some adjustments to where I spend my energy and, photography has kind of fallen to the side for me in this season of life. Although, days like this absolutely make me miss it and wish I had more elopements/weddings coming up, I wish there was a way to just do the capturing side of photography and not the business side…
Anyway, I cannot wait to share this one with y’all!
Abigail reached out and I was immediately flattered, just by her inquiry. She said she wanted to elope but Danny wanted to invite a few more people to celebrate with (sounded familiar to me, ha). She felt that I had good energy and wanted someone to not only capture beautiful images but be a source of down to earth-ness (is that a word?) and peace on their special day. Soon after booking I followed her on instagram and pretty quickly couldn’t wait for this day to meet them both.
I was excited to meet both Danny & Abigail in person, because they seemed like fun-loving, calm, like-minded, folks that want to have a good time but are realistic and minimalistic when it comes to their wedding day…. and that’s my kind of people!
Their day was so calm & relaxed, YET another reason I love intimate weddings/elopements, there’s not as much (if any at all) stress and pressure and it seems like everyone just has a better time all around.
The Gardens at Madeley Manor is such an amazing venue to have an intimate wedding celebration. It’s naturally beautiful and has everything you need, so perfect for the minimalist couple wanting an intimate wedding!
There is so much joy in Abigail’s smile, it radiates and is nearly impossible not to smile back. She greeted me with open arms and I felt at home and welcome by both her & her bridesmaids. In suite with most wedding days, things were running a bit behind to start, so they quickly got dressed and ready before their first look (that they decided to do last minute and I am SO GLAD they did, I think they both are too).
My first encounter with Danny was right before the first look. His eyes were teary as we walked to the first look spot, we talked just a bit, and I knew he had a kind & calm demeanor. After spending more time with him (and his groomsmen), my cheeks were hurting from laughing and smiling so much. Their goofy sense of humor was too much.
Their ceremony was emotional & sweet, I love that they chose Abigail’s dad to perform the ceremony. The love between both Abigail & Danny, and particularly their families for each other was tangible. This truly was the joining of two families, in such a loving & cohesive feeling. At least from what I observed 🙂
Thank you so much for having me come capture and be a part of this fun & love-filled day. I hope you enjoy reliving your day through this blog post with a few of my favorites! Drop a comment with your favorite photo or memory from this wedding at The Gardens at Madeley Manor!
